Break-through for North American Colostrum Feeding

Bloomer, WI - September 20,2010 - Golden Calf Company LLC today announced release of the new ColoQuick product line, a state-of-the art Colostrum Management System. The ColoQuick system is an extremely easy and simple tool that saves dairy farmers time and money!

With the ColoQuick system the producer will be able to see immediate financial gains of $200-$300 or the value of selling a live and healthy calf for future herd replacement needs. In the long term they can expect a minimum first lactation increase of 1800 lbs and some studies showing up to 8800 lbs increase due to earlier age at first calving. This has an economical benefit ranging between $234 and up to $1,144 in just the first lactation using $13.00 cwt for milk sales. These numbers do not include the cost of feed savings of $50-$75/mo for the extra time the animal needs to reach the desirable size for breeding.

The System is designed for today's busy producer who knows and understands that a healthy calf will become a high producing cow in the future. Studies have shown significant benefits, both medical and economical, of a proper colostrum feeding protocol. These represent the need to rapidly thaw and feed 4 liters/quarts of high- quality colostrum within less than 20 minutes after birth.

ColoQuick was developed in Skive, Denmark to give the producer a simple, fast, and safe means of using their own colostrum. The European success of this product has driven Golden Calf Company LLC to make it available to American farmers. The product will launch in the North American market during World Dairy Expo in Madison at booth number 172 in the arena level of the coliseum.

The ColoQuick Colostrum Management System has won a number of Best New Dairy Product awards including one from the French Dairy Show: Space and the Danish Agromek Dairy Show.

Join other WHA members for a judging contest, the chance to view a great herd of cows and some time with other Holstein enthusiasts from across the state!

Getting ready for WI District 1 show

We are getting ready for our District 1 show in Rice Lake on June 16, 2009. My wife, our daughter, and I have been working every last minute we have with the animals we will display at this show along with many other up-and-coming stars. This will be our first time showing in WI since our move to this beautiful and (cow/heifer) cozy area-Bloomer of course.

The Girls we are planning to take with are Beckeland Pronto Return-ET (potential 16th EX), Beckeland Redesign Silk-ET (D: Celebrity-EX, GD: Sydney 94EX), Beckeland Damion Sybil (2GD: Sydney 94 EX) enough said!

Thank God our girls (Cows) like Dagmar because they sure aren't showing me any love right now!! Ha.... Ha....

Silk is Going to Treasure Quest

When we decided to move to Wisconsin, it was because we wanted to be in the heart of the dairy industry. To be able to network with other breeders and to go to high quality shows. Wisconsin has introduced us to new breeders and friends, and so this year we decided to give back.

The Wisconsin Holstein Association holds a fundraiser every year called the Treasure Quest. And so we have entered Beckeland ReDesign Silk.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, and so we all went outside to take a look at our girls. Return looked fantastic and the light was just right so we decided to take a few pictures of her. Afterall she is it - imagine the 16th generation of EXCELLENT cows. How exciting!
